Keep Positive LMS Spirit Alive During School Closure

Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” Speaking from daily experience, walking the halls of LMS has a powerful way of providing one with both positivity and a sense of ownership in the trajectory of our day. Students and staff are reminded daily to “make it a great day or not…the choice is yours!” LMS administrators, teachers, support staff, office staff, and cafeteria and maintenance staff simply have a knack for promoting a supportive atmosphere, where students are given room to grow and achieve in a uniquely upbeat learning environment.

In a time such as this, with our schools facing closure for an undetermined amount of time, in the midst of uncertainty almost every direction we look, we can all make the choice to reach outward with the essence of LMS into our community, with the positivity we have grown accustomed to benefiting from on a daily basis. Some ideas for sharing positive LMS spirit in our community are:

· Text or tell someone three reasons why they are awesome.

· De-clutter and donate used items to those in need.

· Do an act of kindness each day.

· Join a fundraiser for a worthy cause.

· Write a positive review about a local small business.

· Do helpful things at home without being asked.

· Travel kindly.

· Write an old fashioned letter or card and mail to someone for no real reason other than to brighten their day.

· Make someone laugh.

· Drop off toilet paper or cleaning supplies to elderly neighbors.

· Quickly forgive a mistake.

· Try to help others keep things in perspective.

Let’s stick together in our pursuit to promote a kinder community and world!
