Everyone loves to be celebrated! However, every year the third nine weeks is such a hard time. It’s right after Christmas so the excitement of the holidays is over, it’s cold outside, and summer still seems so far away! I decided we needed a little fun and motivation in my classroom. Enter Olaf (sorry, I have 2 small girls so Frozen is my life right now!). I want to celebrate good test grades, but I don’t want to leave anyone out. Not everyone is capable of making an “A” in math, but that doesn’t mean they can’t celebrate! What I am looking for is improvement. If a student’s grade goes up from one test to the next (or they make a 100%) their name goes on a snowflake. Improvement is the name of the game and the students love it! After a test they can’t wait to look on the door to see if their name made it. I can’t wait to see how many names make it to the door next time!
